The VARSITY CUP, a unique gender inclusive footballing initiative has drawn attention for its unique structure, focusing solely on football in a format inspired by the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) but akin to a "Champions League" for Nigerian universities. In an exclusive interview, Mr. Dapo Olarenwaju, Marketing Manager of the VARSITY CUP, explained the competition's origins and the intensive planning involved. “We took the NUGA games’ idea but zoomed in on the football aspect, creating a platform where students can showcase their talent in a national league setting,” Olarenwaju noted.
